Sean Bean Wants Richard Madden As James Bond

Sean Bean wants to see Richard Madden as the next James Bond since Daniel Craig is retiring. Madden played Bean’s son in Game of Thrones and the actors, obviously, became good friends. Sean Bean explained to the Sun:

Sean Bean Wants Richard Madden to be the next James Bond, do you?

“He’s (Richard Madden) got everything that’s required of the role. He’s strong, he’s masculine and he’s also got a soft underbelly, he’s vulnerable, good looking — Scottish! I can’t see why he wouldn’t get the part. Everybody was great who came through Game of Thrones. But I always sensed he was a very fine actor. He had gravity and that thing we talked about at drama school — presence. He had a lot of presence.”

In the same interview, Sean Bean said he no longer takes roles of characters who end up being killed off. He’s tired of being that guy, and we kind of get it. Bean is a fine actor, but he’s been killed off for 23 times. There should be an award for that!

As for James Bond, No Time To Die is Daniel Craig’s final role as 007. Richard Madden sounds like a good choice, but filming schedules might be an issue. He’s now part of Marvel and franchisees don’t usually overlap.

No Time To Die opens in theatres on April 8, 2020.  We are sure that Daniel Craig replacement is going to be the hot topic for the next summer. Richard Madden is all set with next year’s The Eternals. And Sean Bean is working on a TV show and a new movie, no dying involved.

Who do you think would make a great James Bond? Who was your favourite 007 agent? And what’s with all the talk about the female lead in the same series?

What do you think?
