Galaxy Note 10 won’t ship with the new Snapdragon 855 Plus

Look away, Samsung fans; because this might not be what you hoped for.
If you think the Snapdragon 855 chip on the Galaxy S10 lineup is super-fast, then think again. Because Qualcomm recently launched its latest SoC, which is a tad faster than its predecessor.

The Snapdragon 855 chip on the Galaxy S10 lineup limits the performance gap between Qualcomm’s chips and Apple’s top-of-the-line Bionic processor to the barest minimum. And the new 855 Plus even takes things even further.

Undoubtedly, the Snapdragon 855 Plus outperforms its predecessor (Snapdragon 855) by all standards. And it seemed like what the upcoming Galaxy Note 10 would need to stand out from the competition by a mile.

However, all hopes of seeing this robust chip make a grand entry in the Note 10 were dashed as Samsung decided to go for the older 855 chipset instead.

The Snapdragon 855-powered Galaxy S10 is a mobile powerhouse that stands tall as one of the best smartphones today. But with stiff competition from arch-rivals and rapid rate of innovation in the tech world, Qualcomm knows quite well that there is no room to relent.

That is why it developed the latest Snapdragon 855 Plus chip as the perfect booster for upcoming flagship phones.
With the Galaxy Note 10 release date around the corner, it certainly did seem (at a point) like a perfect time to introduce this new chip to the world. But Samsung definitely had a different idea, and the reason couldn’t be far-fetched.
The Galaxy Note 10 has gone beyond its final production stage and may be difficult to alter at that point.

No Snapdragon 855 Plus on the upcoming Galaxy Note 10- What is there to gain- or lose?

The new Snapdragon 855 Plus is Qualcomm’s most advanced mobile chipset to date. This means that the upcoming Galaxy Note 10 may be missing out on some new and powerful features.

Qualcomm’s new chip boasts of better CPU and GPU performance that makes for better gaming and multitasking experience. Something that every Note 10 user would love to see on their smartphone.

The new Snapdragon 855 Plus sure offers advanced features that complement new and emerging technologies today. As it stands, you may have to wait a bit longer before experiencing the hallmark features of the new Snapdragon chip.

The good thing is, the Snapdragon 855 chip is still as capable as ever before. And the upgrades on its latest sibling are more incremental than revolutionary.

So you may not notice the difference during real-life usage, except when you put the phone through some heavy tasks.
