Oats 101 – Health Essentials

@Sara Dubler

It is no news how important it is to eat healthy. And yet, here you are reading another article on healthy eating!

Anyway, food is an essential part of our daily routine. But exactly which food is essential? It is, precisely, anything that doesn’t wear you out, provides nutrition, and makes you feel healthy and strong, and so on. Especially for people who are always on the go, and working, whose jobs are tiring and exhausting, it is necessary for them to be snacking almost all the time. Which is why oats are something, everyone should include in their diets.

Oats are among the most beneficial grains on earth. They’re a gluten-free whole grain and an extraordinary wellspring of significant nutrients, minerals, fiber and antioxidants. Studies demonstrate that oats and cereal have numerous medical advantages. These incorporate weight reduction, lower glucose levels and a decreased danger of coronary illness.

Moreover, a very important thing apart from oats being healthy is eating such foods can lift up our moods. For instance, feeling low? Make a cute bowl of oats with Greek yogurt, a banana, and some berries! Feel like having a fancy breakfast? Oats pancakes! How we tune ourselves into eating healthy is the tough part, the rest becomes a habit. And oats go with everything. Even if you’re on the road, grab a granola bar and you’re good to go.

Happy new week to you all! 💖💖 We have just started our Easter holidays (cue lots of chaos and hyper children!), so if I go missing – you know I’ll be hiding in the pantry 🤪 Anyway, school holidays also mean making lots of snacks to keep the boys happy (question: do boys EVER stop eating?! 😱). I’ve been making a lot of these granola bars lately. Easy, no-bake and super cheap. Plus, they are great for breakfasts on the go! If you’re in holiday mode too, here’s the recipe 😘 NO BAKE GRANOLA BARS (Makes 12-16 bars) 3 tbsp vegan butter 3 heaped tbsp cashew butter (I used @meridianfoods) 4.5 tbsp coconut honey – or more to taste (I used @coconutmerchant) 1 tsp vanilla 2 cups oats, lightly toasted (I toasted in a pan) 3/4 cup desiccated coconut 1/2 cup chopped nuts – I used pecans and almonds 1 cup mixed dried fruit and seeds – I used cranberries, goji berries, pumpkin seeds and watermelon seeds @mightyseeds 1 cup dark chocolate chips Pinch salt Method: 1. Gently melt the butter in a pan. Whisk in the cashew butter, coconut honey (can also use maple syrup) and vanilla until smooth. Remove from the hob and set aside. 2. In a separate bowl, mix together oats, coconut, nuts, dried fruit and seeds and salt. Stir in the butter mixture until everything is completely coated (add more honey or cashew butter, if the mixture isn’t sticky enough), then fold in the choc chips. Don’t worry if they melt a little – this helps everything stick together anyway! 3. In a lined brownie tin, press the mixture down tightly. The firmer you press and the more compact the mixture, the better your bars will hold! Place in the fridge to firm overnight. 4. Cut into bars and enjoy immediately, or store in a container in the fridge! #granola #granolabar #healthysnack #easyrecipes #breakfast #breakfastlover #veganbreakfast #healthyfoodporn #superfoods #veganuk #toddlerfood #fitmom #foodstyling #plantpowered #veganrecipes #eattherainbow #feedfeedvegan #vegansofig #plantbased #foods4thought #bestofvegan #veganfoodshare #thatsdarling #instafood #foodblogger #befitfoods #forkyeah #feedfeed #bbg #sweatwithkayla
