Top Upcoming Horror Movies – Sequels and Remakes

There are a lot of highly-anticipated horror movies coming out later in 2019. In the near future, we’ll be getting more evil dolls, murderous families, and demonic clowns coming to the big screen.

Here is a look at some of the top upcoming horror sequels and remakes.

Annabelle 3

Annabelle 2 was a prequel to Annabelle 1, and now Annabelle 3 is a sequel to the original, yet still a prequel to the Conjuring movies. The Warrens are featured in Annabelle Comes Home, and the doll herself appears to be one of the many items in their “Creepy Things” collection and described in the trailer as “A Beacon for Other Spirits”. The movie is set to premiere on June 28.

3 From Hell

Not much yet is known about the third iteration of the creepy Firefly family except that it’s definitely a sequel to The Devil’s Rejects (2005) and that Rob Zombie keeps promising that the “trailer is coming soon”. With the way The Devil’s Rejects ended, no one expected that there could be a sequel, so fans can only speculate how Rob is going to bring the family back. The release date is currently set in “Fall 2019”.

Child’s Play

Yes, it’s Chucky all over again, another evil doll, albeit of the more “slasher” variety. The upcoming Child’s Play is described as a “remake AND reboot” of the original 1988 film, and is written by Tyler Burton Smith and directed by Lars Klevberg. None other than Mark Hamill will be voicing Chucky, who has proven  in the past that he is perfectly capable of voicing creepy characters as the Joker in the 90s Batman: The Animated Series.

Child’s Play is hitting theaters on June 21.

It: Chapter 2

The evil returns in 27 year intervals in the small town of Derry, Maine, so all of the “Loser’s Club” kids from It are all grown up now.  Everybody’s favorite creepy clown demon (Bill Skarsgård) is returning to terrorize the citizens some more. Sure, the kids grew up and moved away, but you can never really escape Pennywise. New Line Cinema is bringing Chapter 2 to theaters on September 6.
