Taylor Swift Talks Kardashian Drama and New Album

Taylor Swift is Vogue’s cover girl for September issue. In case you’ve been living under a rock or just don’t care about fashion, that’s a huge deal. September issue of any fashion-related magazine is what New Year’s Eve for the rest of us. And yes, she did mention that Kardashian drama and talked Lover, her new album.

Wanted to thank @abbyaguirre for writing such a thoughtful piece and for diving into my pastel cryptic world of hints, Easter eggs, and numerology. We also talked about sexism, equality, and all things Lover. I ate an entire cheese plate by myself. On stands soon-ish.

So, the Kardashian drama started before any of the Kardashians were involved. Kanye West interrupted her while she was about to receive an award ten years ago. Then, three years ago, West released the song Famous and very tacky video to follow. The song stated he and Swift “might still have sex” and that he “made that bitch famous.” TL;DR, Swift knew she would be referenced in the song, but claimed she didn’t. In fact, she didn’t know just in what context. Kim Kardashian West shared the receipts. It did make Swity look bad, but the worse was yet to come.

WELL SO THIS IS A THING THAT’S HAPPENING. September issue of @voguemagazine and I’m so so so grateful to Anna, @tonnegood, @sergiokletnoy and basically anyone who was like ‘yeah she can be on the Sept issue cover’. What an amazing experience shooting with @inezandvinoodh.

After the public humiliation, the singer/songwriter got a nickname she later embraced: snake. Kardashian-West fans told her to kill herself, that she is canceled, just a mass hysteria all over social media and the tabloids. Taylor said for Vogue: “I don’t think there are that many people who can actually understand what it’s like to have millions of people hate you very loudly. When you say someone is canceled, it’s not a TV show. It’s a human being.”

Swift continued: “I realized I needed to restructure my life because it felt completely out of control. I knew immediately I needed to make music about it because I knew it was the only way I could survive it. It was the only way I could preserve my mental health and also tell the story of what it’s like to go through something so humiliating.”

Taylor Swift’s new album Lover is coming out in two weeks and the fans are analyzing every detail. While she likes to be secretive, track 10 is probably going to make us all ugly-cry. It is about her mother’s illness and it is a collaboration with the Dixie Chicks. This is her mother’s favorite band, which only makes us more emotional.

The album also includes several tracks written only by Taylor Swift. Yes, she writes her own lyrics and music, but Vogue’s cover girl usually have people from the industry to help her make a song, from the lyrics and the music.

Taylor Swift The Kardashian Drama New Album Lover Vogue's cover girl Anna Wintour

Reddit user made a cheatsheet after listening to the new album on one of Taylor’s private sessions. And of course, we are back to Vogue and here’s what Taylor had to ask Anna Wintour. The interview isn’t that interesting, but it’s nice to hear that Anna Wintour hates neon animal print leggings as much as we do!
