Naturally, the franchise called Halloween is on our list. Michael Myers and his mask are creepy enough to make you jump, but movies are predictable, so you won’t get too scared. Halloween film series has 11 movies, so take your pick. Halloween (1978) and Halloween (2018) are our favourites.

Get Out is not in any shape or form connected to Halloween. But the movie plays tricks with your mind and the powerful message is atypical for any horror.

Rosemary’s Baby is a pure classic. It’s not a seasonal movie, it’s a movie that will change your perspective on the movies. And you can rewatch it, and still get the chills. The whole Apartment trilogy is mesmerizing, so once you rewatch Rosemary’s Baby, check out Repulsion and The Tennant.

There’s something about sinister kids which makes us want to see more of them. It’s a strange mixture of naivety and innocence with pure evil. Orphan isn’t what it seems, but the recent real-life case made it a must-see Haloween movie.

Hocus Pocus and Trick ‘r Treat or fun, exciting, Halloween movies, perfect to set the tone. Yet, you can watch them and fall asleep without having the craziest nightmares. Add Practical Magic and Mom’s Got a Date with a Vampire, invite your friends, and have an adult slumber party this weekend.

You can’t have Halloween without some Scream. The 90s classic has everything a slasher needs, plus decent acting. This is one of those movies you will want to watch in 10 or 20 years, despite the weak plot. And once you get into Halloween movies and the 90s combined, continue with I Know What You Did Last Summer franchise. The whole decade had a thing for fabulous comedies and decent, yet not over the top scary, horrors.

Friday The 13th series consists of 12 movies. The older ones are better, yes, they are cheesier, but also Jason’s killings are more interesting. Do miss Jason X, that movie put shame on other Halloween movies.

Maybe the scariest movie ever, The Exorcist, should have its annual watching at your house. If you want something a bit more quirky, The Lost Boys have your back. There are many Halloween movies which aren’t related to holiday per se. We just love to watch them to get that end of October feeling. Add Child’s Play (not from 2019) to that list, that doll is so annoying!
