Jay Z worked on an art performance with Marina Abramović, made a song “Picasso Baby” and among reported pieces you can find works by Andy Warhol, Tim Noble, Laurie Simmons, Ed Ruscha, Shepard Fairey, Richard Prince and Jean-Michel Basquiat in their homes. While it is evident that the couple knows how to make big bucks, it is pretty certain that they enjoy art. After all, they always come up with something new, so maybe this is where the inspiration comes from.
Leonardo DiCaprio co-hosted LACMA’s glittering art + Film Gala, proving his knowledge of art. He also paid 700.000USD for unfinished works of Takashi Murakami. Notoriously private actor’s current collection reportedly includes work by Oscar Murillo and Salvador Dalí. One of his best friends, Tobey Maguire, is also a big art lover and you will find mostly Kaz Oshiro’s and Mark Ryden’s works.
Eric Clapton dropped out of art school to become a musician. He is passionate about his music, but he is also among the most prominent art collectors in the world.
