Indian actress, activist and former Miss World, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, wants to change the world, piece by piece. Known as a woman who doesn’t hold back anymore, her interviews for Sunday Times and InStyle are quite interesting and even inspiring.
37-year old beauty, wife of Nick Jonas, says that she got a lot of grief over marring a younger guy but it doesn’t end there. When it comes to her wedding, some people think she was oversharing it on her Instagram. “If I wasn’t a famous person and I’d just got married, don’t you think my Insta would have photos of me and my husband? Just because I’m famous, don’t I have the ability to be proud of being a newlywed without people saying that I’m using my marriage”, concluded the beautiful Chopra Jonas.
She then went to talk about her career, her ups, and downs, transitioning from Bollywood to Hollywood. While she felt some shame for not being a typical Hollywood Barbie type, after Quantico and Baywatch, Priyanka learned to embrace her roots and then found love.
Last December, former Disney star and the actress married, actually they had three ceremonies, but some were not happy with the age difference. “People gave us a lot of s*** about that and still do,” she says. “I find it really amazing when you flip it, and the guy is older, no one cares and people like it.”
Always looking on the brighter side of life, Chopra Jonas admitted she wants to change the world and make her future children proud: “My big endgame is creating a formidable career and legacy for myself, but at the same time I want to have moved something.” Chopra Jonas says that having children with Nick is definitely on the horizon when the time is right. “I want my existence to have meant something. I want my kids to turn around and be like, ‘Yeah, that was my mom.”
While Chopra does share a lot of intimate stuff about her marriage, she is doing her bit for diversity, and of course, if she were a guy, no one would care that she is 11 years older than her husband. She added that the treatment of her friend Meghan Markle is appalling, racist and sexist, especially during the Duchess’ pregnancy.
As she said in an interview, “I want to change the world a little bit,” and even some think it is oversharing, just by talking, Priyanka is doing something great.
