It’s been a quiet weekend for the celebrities; however, Miss Taylor Swift had one interview that made us rethink feminism.
Swifty is turning 30 this year and naturally, she was asked during an interview about whether she plans on becoming a mother. The”ME!” singer was furious, explaining: “I really do not think men are asked that question when they turn 30.”
Taylor Swift reminded us that the question is private and some women choose not to have children, while others can’t. It really is that simple to understand why some questions are off limits, whether you are famous or not.
Speaking of women’s issues and feminism, we did a little digging to see how many male superstars took roles in movies directed by women.
Tom Cruise, Matt Damon, Will Smith are the sore losers since they never worked for a woman, sort of speak. The Iron Man, Robert Downey Jr, Brad Pitt, and Hugh Jackman did one each. Guess how many times Keanu Reeves worked for a female director?
Out of 68 movies he started in, Reeves worked with female director 13 times! It is time to give women a chance, and if you have the star power and all that money, why not do something humble for a change? Seems to work for Keanu Reeves so that we can forgive him for some controversial roles. “Knock Knock” and “The Neon Demon” are the first to come to mind.
Let’s hear a round of applause for Taylor Swift and “Speed” star!
