Gwen Stefani is one of the coolest women on the planet. She started as a rock chic icon, then experimented with Harajuku style and continued to build her fashionista status. Mom of three is a style chameleon, and she just launched an eyewear collection. Unfortunately, her target were not adults, but teens, as her 10-year-old son Zuma inspired the collection.
Zuma Rock is the name of the collection and here is what the famous mom had to say: “If you go out and buy boy glasses, they’re all the same,” the singer said, continuing “Zuma is a little more boyish and doesn’t care as much [about his style]. But with the glasses, he does because it’s something he identifies with it. Everyone recognizes him with glasses, he needs the glasses”.
Stefani, who is also a Voice judge, said that at first, she was a bit upset that she never got a girl to dress up, but she is now proud of her boys since Zuma (10), Kingston (13) and Apollo Rossdale (5), have taken an interest in style over the years.
The collection is edgy, fun, just what we expected from the former No Doubt singer. Her boyfriend, country singer Blake Shelton, was not involved in the designing process as the singer told People magazine: “He doesn’t wear any glasses or sunglasses ever”.
Shelton and Stefani started dating in 2015, and they are still going strong (knock on wood, because Irina Shayk and Bradley Cooper just broke up, maybe it’s contagious). Gwen was previously married to musician Gavin Rossdale, but she recently announced that she wants the church annulment. While it is easy to understand that Gwen and Blake are in love and want a fresh start, how could one get an annulment when there are three children involved?
We love the glasses, we adore Gwen, but she should just get married so we can all move on!
