You probably heard that Irina Shayk and Bradley Cooper decided to call it quits. Why? Apparently, they had little in common and lived separate lives. Another failed vintage couple tried the same thing: Mia Farrow and Woody Allen. We all know how that story ended.
The real surprises came from two very different places. First, there’s Queen Elizabeth II and her hubby Prince Philip. They are both in their 90s, and they have actual castles. Still, they live miles apart but talk every day on the phone. The royal sources claim it is because retired Duke of Edinburgh prefers more private and relaxed places. Still, if you consider how massive Windsor Castle is, we are sure there are ways to relax and always be next to his wife. It raises some questions about their marriage, though there’s a possibility we are reading too much into it.
Now, the juicy stuff came from Goop aka Gwyneth Paltrow. The actress and Brad Falchuk got married just last year. However, she told the Sunday Times Style Magazine that they only spend four nights a week with each other: “Oh, all my married friends say the way we live sounds ideal and we shouldn’t change a thing”.
So, he is at his house three days a week and the rest he sleeps at his wife’s home. Is it the future of marriage or recipe for a disaster? While it is understandable to be respectful to their children from previous marriages, it still makes no sense. But Paltrow said that her intimacy teacher taught her that, so it must be healthy.
Certainly, this is a case of “live and let live”, but it raises a lot of questions for us, mere mortals. Is the human race that selfish nowadays or the concept of marriage needs an update? What are your thoughts? Because, to be fair, everyone has something to say whenever the Oscar-winning actress does an interview. Or promotes Goop.
