Oscar-winning actress, 28-year-old Jennifer Lopez got engaged in February. Her fiancé is 34-years-old gallery owner Cooke Maroney, whom she met over a mutual friend. Now, the blonde bombshell decided to bare it all on Naked podcast, so let’s see how she feels about getting married and how the relationship started.
“I wasn’t at a place where I was like, “I’m ready to get married.” I just met Cooke, and I wanted to marry him. We wanted to marry each other, we wanted to commit fully. He’s my best friend,” explained the American Hustle actress. She added that she already has the dress and they picked out the venue, saying that she isn’t feeling nervous.
The romance began just months after Jennifer split from Mother! director Darren Aronofsky. Previously she dated Chris Martin and Nicholas Hoult. Despite not being open to marriage just months before meeting Maroney, the actress cannot wait to share the life with him.
“He’s the greatest human being I’ve ever met. He really is, and he gets better. I started with the basics. “How do I feel? Is he nice? Is he kind?” Lawrence continued: “I know that sounds really stupid but he’s just the greatest person I’ve ever met, so I feel very honored to become a Maroney.”
J.Law admitted she had one Bridezilla moment. None of her friends weren’t able to attend her bachelorette party due to short notice. She cried but explained that she is too lazy to feel neurotic.
Lawrence also discussed how her year off from acting in New York changed her. “I feel like I got to know myself in the past year,” she stated. “It was great. You know, I met somebody, I fell in love, and I started a new life in New York. It’s not as private as I would love for it to be, but I have been doing things that I didn’t actually think that I could.”
It does sound like a fairytale, but the couple has been dating for only eight months. Is it too soon? Or when you know, you know? As for the rest, we can only guess the dress is Dior. The wedding will be a low-key event, with some very famous faces, like Emma Stone and Amy Schumer.
While Hollywood marriages tend to last shorter compared to the others (yes, I am once again talking about us, mere mortals), we do wish a happy couple all the luck. They already have everything else!
