New iPhone, new Snapchat update. If you have a phone from the iPhone X or iPhone 11 range, you can now take selfies that appear three dimensional. Seems like Snapchat 3D Selfie Mode isn’t for anyone, but that might change over time.
Snapchat announcement stated: “We’re excited to introduce a 3D Camera Mode that adds depth to your Snaps. Use it to create Snaps that capture spatial detail, changing in perspective and appearance based on how you move your phone when you view them. These new Snaps look different, act different, and feel different.”
While you need the newer Apple phones to use this update, you can share it with anyone.
Snapchat’s parent company Snap is hoping that the latest update will get them back in the race with Instagram. As you know, there’s a silent war between Facebook’s Instagram and Snapchat. Insta has around 500 million daily active users, while Snapchat has around 203 million.
So how does it work? You have iPhone 11 and you go to updates. After you update Snapchat open it and go to the camera. Tap on the dropdown option in the upper right, then on 3D. You are now ready to take a selfie in a 3D mode, add stickers, filters, share. Since this is the early phase, expect more from this update. Happy Snapping!
