Our Favourite TV Shows Of 2010s

Choosing the best TV shows of the decade is not an easy job. It’s not like we are making a list of top 100, it’s closer to the top 10. So, after a lot of disagreements and hurt egos, we came up with the titles. Here are our favorite shows of the decade, since 2020 is very close.

Schitt’s Creek

Canadian comedy is so refreshing in its wittiness and absurdity. Of course, the cast is fantastic, one-liners are hilarious and there’s that element of heart. Even though main Rose family are bizarre characters, they are a family and we love them. We are anxiously waiting for the final season of one of the best comedies as well as the best TV shows of the decade.

Game of Thrones

Despite the finale, Game of Thrones is a TV masterpiece. The beauty is that GoT redefined storytelling and mainstream drama. It’s easily one of the best TV shows of the decade, if not the best. Choosing a favorite season is much harder. The books were told from multiple points of view so the biggest challenge was finding the right actors. And the showrunners most certainly delivered.

House of Cards

Another easy choice for the best TV shows of the decade is House of Cards. This brilliant political drama is almost Shakespearean. The show is also a pioneer since it was among the first huge shows to be presented on Netflix.

The Americans

This show speaks about the past, but it mirrors today’s political situation. Watching Felicity as a top spy, it really showed us how underrated Keri Russell is. And her chemistry with Matthew Rhys is exceptional. The show did have its ups and downs, but the last season was way better than we imagined.

A Very English Scandal

The fact that A Very English Scandal is based on a true story, makes it even more appealing. Hugh Grant was born to play this part and if you missed this mini-series, do yourself a favor and watch it. It’s brutal, in a very polite, English manner. It may not be the best, but it is among our favorite shows of the decade.

Hindsight

What a sad destiny this TV show had. It lasted one season. Most people never heard of it, since it was on VH1, but hopefully, that will change now. Hindsight starts with time-traveling, but it is about love, growing up, making mistakes in your 20s and how they can change your life. Excellent music, 90s fashion, and clothes, pure 90s nostalgia!

The Disappearance

This French mini-series will break your heart. But before that, you will be sucked into a mystery, complex drama and superb characters. Disparue is one of those shows that you cannot forget, simply because the story is too familiar, too real. It deserves a place among the best TV shows of the decade.
