It was a year of surprises, so getting into the news was not easy for any celebrity. Choosing the most talked-about celebrities of 2019 is not as easy as just naming the ones with the most followers. We went through various publications from all over the world and here’s what we gathered on our quest.

No surprises here, but the younger royal ladies are the most talked about celebrities in the whole world. Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle were in the headlines more than anyone else. The press is still cashing in on these ladies. Meghan Markle faced both sides of fame, while Kate Middleton finally found herself in the media’s good grace. It can change overnight but looks like nothing seels like a sexy catfight between the Duchesses. Even if it’s made up.

Jennifer Aniston and Friends

It was a big year for Jennifer Aniston. The 90s nostalgia got her a lot of good press, but she didn’t leave her Friends co-stars behind. Jennifer Aniston’s debut on Instagram started with a bang, by crashing the app. And guess what? The press is finally not dragging her into another love triangle. Aniston is a superstar and it took 50 years for the media to see her as an actress and a woman, not just America’s sweetheart.

Another case of “she is more than her love life” is Rihanna. The singer, model, designer, pulled the impossible: she outdid Victorias Secret show by giving people what they need: a diversity! Her Fenty Savage fashion show went beyond fashion, it was a celebration of music, dancing, being strong and sexy. All that without being overexposed. Talk about being among the most talked-about celebrities of 2019 for all the good reasons.

Miley Cyrus

Miley and Liam Hemsworth’s split came as a surprise since they were married for like one hot minute. She then went on a trip with her now former girlfriend, only to find herself dating Cody Simpson. The press was mostly negative, but still, Miley Cyrus is among the most talked-about celebrities in 2019.

Drake

Drake is in the early 30s but has already outsold rap legends, including Tupac, Jay-Z, and Eminem. But his talent is nothing new. His love life, alleged hook-ups, deals from Apple to Nike, made this Canadian a friend to every blog, magazine, newspaper.

Kanye West  – Most Talked-About Celebrity Every Year

Kanye West is always THE news. This year, it was all about his church, his wife, naturally and some very sensitive subjects. West called out the abortion industry’s “brainwashing” while promoting Jesus is King. Not a single Kardashian/Jenner managed to top that. Needless to say, people had strong reactions, which sells, as we all know. West is not just among most talked-about celebrities of 2019, he is the most-talked-about person every year.

J.Lo

Jennifer Lopez produced and starred in the 2019 hit, Hustlers. She got engaged to baseball star Alex Rodriguez after two years of dating. Then, she proved she really can do anything by walking the Versace runway in that dress. The mom of two is 50 and she’s unstoppable, which is inspiring, considering no one believed she had any talents apart from being pretty.
