Beverly Hills 90210 is back and the bad girl of the 90s, Shannen Doherty has a lot to say. The actress spoke about all the rumors about the feuds, and it’s not quite what we expected.
The show is this summer’s highest-rated series debut. Despite being confusing to many fans, BH 90210 had it’s touching moments. Every time they mentioned Luke Perry, it was touching and not overplayed. Even though Brenda, played by Shannen Doherty was on the show only for two minutes, the fans of the original were glad to see her.
The actress decided to open up about the feuds to People, and here’s what she has to say:
“Somebody had a problem with me being late, but perhaps they didn’t know I was late because my dad was in the hospital, or maybe because I was in a horrible marriage. I didn’t share, or I wasn’t asked. I’m not saying it was all a misunderstanding, but a large portion of it was a misunderstanding,” Doherty said about the tensions on the set.
Doherty’s reputation got so bad that she got fired, and the late Aaron Spelling explained: “She thought it was time to go. And the cast did too.” Obviously, Shannon has different views now and she is trying to play down how bad things were. Not that it was one-sided. The whole cast was in diva mode, but that’s what you get when you are very young and get overnight popularity.
This quote from People magazine is quite telling: “It’s always interesting to get back in with a group you have so much history with. We can see how we’ve grown, or not grown. It’s a very interesting dynamic to be around.” So, who grew up? Who’s still stuck in the 90s, claiming the long lost fame? Do tell, Shannon, this tea is too hot not to spill!
BH90210 airs on Wednesday nights and so far there will be a total of six episodes. If the ratings don’t drop drastically, that zip code might not go away just yet.
