Five Actors Compete for Elvis in Baz Luhrmann Biopic

Elvis Presley is getting a new movie, this time from Baz Luhrmann, probably the best musical director at the moment. While Tom Hanks already signed to play Presley’s manager, the role of Elvis is probably the hottest one in Hollywood right now.

There are at least five young actors/musicians considered. British singer Harry Styles is a popular choice, but Ansel Elgort may be a more obvious one. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Elgort, Styles, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Austin Butler and Miles Teller tested for the filmmaker last week.

The movie will focus on Elvis’ rise to stardom and his relationship with the manager, who controlled pretty much every aspect of his life.

Back in 2005, Johnathan Rhys Meyers did a great job in miniseries developed by CBS. However, after the huge successes of Queen’s and Elton John’s biopics, it is time to see the famous moves and give another look at the life of the King of Rock and Roll.

The question is obvious: who would you cast? Do you think Moulin Rouge director has another hit on his hands?
